We’re excited to kick off 2025 with some key dates and updates for the upcoming rugby season. Mark your calendars and get ready for an amazing spring!

Read below for how you can try it out before you register.
• High School & Youth Tackle: Practice has started. You are welcome to join any practice free to try it out. Click on schedule [link] to see upcoming dates/times.
• Flag Rugby: Attend an Open House
- March 16, 1pm-2pm @ Rippowam MS Turf Field
Key Dates:
High School Boys Tackle:
• March 1: Practice at Kennedy Stadium, Bridgeport
• March 2: Mandatory Practices Start (M/Tu/Th/Sa)
• March 9: First Scrimmage – U19 Varsity Boys @ Fairfield Prep
• March 22: First League Match – U16 Froshmore Boys @ Staples HS
Youth Tackle (U12/U14):
• March 9: Practice at Rippowam Turf
• March 14: Mandatory Practices Start (Fri/Sat/Sun/Wed)
• March 30: Joint Practice – U12/U14 @ Fairfield Rugby Club
• April 6: Youth Jamboree @ Fairfield Rugby Club
Flag Rugby (Grades K-8):
• March 16: Open House #1
• April 6: Youth Flag Rugby – Season Opener (Sundays)
Flag Rugby will be on Sunday mornings at 9:30am-10:30am & 10:45am-11:45am. Times may change +/- 1 hour pending final player numbers. See schedule for start times by age group. There will be no weeknight practices. This is a great option if you are playing another spring sport and cannot commit to weeknight practices.
What are the age cutoffs for U12 & U14 tackle rugby for the 2025 Spring Season?
- For U12 your child must have been 9, 10 or 11 on August 31, 2024 and in 5th, 6th or 7th Grade. U12s are typically Grade 5 or 6 with a handful of 7th graders with Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec birthdates.
- For U14 your child must have been 12 or 13 on August 31, 2024). U14s are typically 7th and 8th graders.
- No 9th graders are permitted to play U14 irrespective of meeting the age cutoff. They can play High School Boys Froshmore (U16).
